Flowers

I often go walking in meadows of clover,
And I gather armfuls of blossoms of blue.
I gather the blossoms the whole meadow over;
Dear mother, all flowers remind me of you.

O mother, I give you my love with each flower
To give forth sweet fragrance a whole lifetime through;
For if I love blossoms and meadows and walking,
I learn how to love them, dear mother, from you.

I will always think of my mom when I see beautiful flowers.  She knew the names of so many flowers!  We got to go to the Homestead Resort each year for superintendent meetings.  If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it.  It's such a beautiful and relaxing place!
Mom and I spent lots of time walking and jogging the grounds there.  I would always point out flowers that I liked and she would tell me the name.  The ones I pointed out year after year were the columbine.  They were in full bloom while we were there, and absolutely beautiful!  Every year, she had to tell me the name of these flowers that I loved.  You'd think I would have learned the name after the first time or two, but I was glad she was there to tell me.
